College Football Signing Day

I so miss college football already. At least we can get a glimpse into the future with yesterday's college football signing day. Since I'm a huge Michigan fan, it was good to see that Bobby Burton of Rivals.com ranks the Wolverines as the 10th best recruiting class in the nation. No other Big Ten team was in the top 10. Here's some of the top recruits for the Maize and Blue...
Ryan Mallett , the quarterback of the future, is getting a jump-start on his career. Mallett already has enrolled and will participate in spring practice.
"He understands part of the advantage for him coming here is the fact he can spend a year watching Chad Henne and being around Chad Henne," U-M coach Lloyd Carr said.
The intention is to not redshirt Mallett.
Defensive back Artis Chambers , fullback Vince Helmuth and linebacker Austin Panter also are enrolled. The real deal is defensive back Donovan Warren, rated a five-star player by rivals.com, is expected to play immediately.
"Donovan Warren is the real deal," Carr said. "He impressed me as a guy that was really goal-oriented, a guy that was not afraid of competition."
College football signing day is like having a spring day in winter and we sure could use one this week. Brrr it's cold outside! These are the days my friend. Go Blue!
