Pirates of the Caribbean

Pat and I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest when it opened on Friday at a matinee in Toledo. For that showing, there must have been two hundred empty seats. Later we went to the Franklin Park Mall and overheard teens at 7:00 pm. say that all tickets had been sold for Pirates until the 11:00 pm. shows. The movie took in a staggering $132 million in its first three days. The movie surpassed every box office debut in movie history. Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is hilarious and he makes such a good pirate. How many kids will want to look like Captain Jack Sparrow this Halloween? (should we mention Halloween?) The movie has many twists and turns and is definitely open ended. It'll take a sequel to wrap this one up. The Pirates of the Caribbean was always designed to be a trilogy. So have you seen the movie? What do you think? Anything for deep (Depp) thought or just a fun movie to watch? There's some interesting father - son dialogue and action.
