World War I

April 6th, 1917 marks the day the USA entered World War I. There are four American WWI vets still alive. Frank Buckles, 106 years old, West Virgina, Lloyd Brown, 105, from Maryland, Harry Landis, 107, of Florida, and Russell Coffey, 108, who lives close by at North Baltimore, Ohio. World War I experts will tell you that the causes and effects of the war reverberate to this day. For instance, in 1917, the British entered Baghdad, proclaiming that they came as liberators, not conquerors. Soon they faced a hostile insurgency. Almost sounds like history is repeating itself with our involvement into Baghdad in 2003. I always appreciate history and learning how it impacts our world today. May you take the time to explore history. History is so much more exciting now than when I had to learn about it in school. Maybe because you had to study to get a grade and now you do it because you want to. These are the days my friend,
Jim "Train"
